5K Season

October is 5k season and DTLR participated in two major ways.

Baltimore-based running organization B.R.O – Black Running Organization -- serves to organize, educate, and condition the Black community through running as a practical demonstration of unity. Their slogan is LETSGROW, which simply means collective development. With the support of DTLR, BRO went to Atlanta to participate in the only Black owned and operated 5… The Race 2023 which included the following events: The Race Half Marathon, The Race 5K, The Race Half Marathon VIRTUAL, The Race 5K VIRTUAL, The Race Bike Ride VIRTUAL, and a community service project.

In Central PA, DTLR hosted the Community Glow Run in Downtown Reading in partnership with Nemesis Fitness, where the race started from in front of the DTLR store at Penn Street.

“The community running events we host hold a special place in our hearts. We started this journey in 2020 to make running accessible to all, with a focus on fun over competition. These events aren't about winning, but about the shared joy of running,” stated race founder Paul Redford. “We get people of all ages and walks of life to get up and get moving as a community. Through this passion, we’ve found not just running partners but lifelong friends. Running transcends the miles and forges connections that last a lifetime. There’s no greater feeling than crossing a finish line with someone you love or care for and we provide a platform for everyone to experience it.”
