"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?' "
-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr
So what are you doing for others? Not just on this day but any day, any time?!
MLK Day is the official national day of service, a day of reflection, a day of support and a day of communal love.
For the DTLR outreach team, its just another day in the 'hood and another opportunity to continue our mission of Daring To Live Right and do right by our communities. On this day, the team set out to nourish, beautify and warm up the communities we continuously serve.
In Atlanta and Detroit, joined by local radio stations and our regular community partners such as the TRU Foundation and Royal Ryderz, the team distributed over 3500 pounds of fresh produce to families.
In Philadelphia, Baltimore non-profit, The Movement Team joined us to clean up and down the blocks of Cumberland and N. Gratz Street, riding it of old tossed out furniture, random litter and used drug paraphernalia, thus brightening the corners of Cumberland.
In Chicago, the corner of the 63rd and Halstead store was turned into a miniature pop-up shop loaded with free items. DTLR purchased 300 youth coats, Doordash provided free hot meals from over 20 vendors and local generous givers donated blankets, hats and gloves to help support Think Outside Da Blocks "Keeping Englewood Warm" initiative.
Every day is a day of service for the DTLR team....we are relentless in our efforts to be a vital resource to our communities and we continue to DARE others to be more and do more!
